We use a crate at the beginning of every shoot. We first wrap the baby which helps to soothe and settle them off to sleep and then place them into the prepared crate.
Fill the crate with posing cushions at the back to elevate the baby's head and fill with layers of fabrics and similar colours. Don't lay the baby flat in the crate as they will look big. Put the baby in bottom first with their head elevated and rested on the posing cushions. Shoot from overhead being careful not to shoot up the baby's nose.
If there are any voids either side of baby pop some posing cushions in there to stop baby from moving
Remember to have a spotter next the baby at all times. Baby's safety is paramount.
