Why Train With Newborn Baby Posing?

Since 2011, Newborn Baby Posing has been helping photographers develop the skills, confidence and safety knowledge required for successful newborn photography.

Unlike many online-only courses, our newborn photography workshops provide learning with a newborn baby model for an entire shoot. Students learn about safe newborn handling, wrapping techniques, posing workflows, lighting, camera settings and business practices that can be implemented immediately.

Our workshops are intentionally kept small, allowing attendees to ask questions, receive personalised guidance and observe professional newborn workflows in action.

In addition to workshop training, students gain access to ongoing educational resources, free downloads, business learning materials and specialist newborn photography products used by photographers worldwide.

Who Is This Newborn Photography Workshop For?

This newborn photography workshop is suitable for beginner photographers looking to start their newborn photography journey, portrait photographers wishing to expand into newborn photography, photographers wanting to improve their understanding of newborn safety, and those struggling with posing workflow or session consistency. It is also ideal for photographers who are starting a newborn photography business and would like practical guidance on both the creative and business aspects of working with newborn clients.

What You Need to Bring

Please bring your camera, memory cards and a spare battery if you can.

If you're new to photography, don't worry about having the latest equipment. We always recommend attending training before investing in camera upgrades, as you'll have a much clearer understanding of what equipment is best for your style of photography afterwards. If you haven't yet purchased a camera, simply choose one that fits your budget and we'll help you get the most from it.

We use a 50mm lens for the majority of the workshop, particularly for beanbag posing, and a wide-angle lens for prop setups. However, if you only have one lens available, please bring what you have. Our workshops are suitable for photographers using DSLR or mirrorless cameras from any manufacturer.

If you're unsure about your camera settings or equipment, we're always happy to help. We regularly assist beginners and can guide you through your camera setup on the day.

As newborns need a warm environment to remain comfortable and settled, the studio can get quite warm. We recommend dressing in layers so that you can adjust throughout the day.

All studio lighting equipment is provided, and we will supply the trigger required to connect your camera to our studio lights.
